Combined Master’s and Doctoral 8 semesters or more (within 10 years from the admission) 60 credits or more 2.0(C-) or better 3.0(B-) or better

Prerequisite Class 선수과목

(for Master’s degree program only)

In case a student’s previous academic background is different from the current program, the student might need to take undergraduate prerequisite subjects after consulting with his/her academic advisor.

The prerequisite subjects are mandatory requirements for course completion and graduation.

Additional Credits 추가(취득요구)학점

(for Doctoral degree program only)

In case a student’s previous academic background is different from the current program or graduated from a specialized or professional graduate school before admitted, the student might need to take additional credits after consulting with his/her academic advisor.

The additional credits are mandatory for course completion and graduation.

Degree Requirements

1. Credit: Please refer to the credit section above.
2. Semester: Please refer to the credit section above.
3. Thesis/Dissertation Advisor: Master’s students must get guidance from their advisors for 2 semesters (3rd and 4th semesters), doctoral students for 3 semesters (2nd, 3rd and 4th semesters), and combined master’s and doctoral degree students for 3 semesters (6th, 7th and 8th semesters.)
4. Comprehensive Exam: Please refer to the Comprehensive Exam page.
5. Research Ethics Course: Students must pass the Research Ethics Course before the thesis/dissertation submission.
6. TOPIK requirement: All international students must submit TOPIK level 4 or better before the preliminary presentation (공개발표). In case the student is recommended by his/her department head based on his/her research accomplishments before the preliminary presentation (공개발표), the student can be exempted from submitting the TOPIK certificate.
7. Publication: For doctoral and combined master’s and doctoral degree students must meet the publication requirements prescribed by each department. For details, please consult with your department office.
